I am running for school board because I am passionate about education. As a parent, I know that there are some pretty big challenges at the federal, state and local levels. I am ready and willing to tackle the big issues our schools face and take steps to change and improve education for ALL children.
My story isn’t cookie cutter, as I am sure yours is not. If this is true for us, how true is that for our children? I have four children, and each one is uniquely different. I do not parent, talk to or discipline them in the same ways. I am a more effective parent when I am able to adjust my methods to match the needs of my children, just us we should be allowing teachers to do in classrooms.
I want to be the kind of school board director who doesn’t just talk about the unique gifts and talents of our students but empowers the school district and staff with the resources and policies to do this work well. Each of our students deserves the best possible opportunity to succeed. I wanted to be a part of making this a reality. Will you join me to bring change that is compassionate, based on common-sense solutions that put your children first?
